A Grizzly cub is dependant on its mother for the first two years of its life. Within those two years, the cub will learn what is food, what is a threat and all other key aspects to survive. It still baffles me to think that an animal, born at ten tiny ounces, in two years can learn everything it needs to survive in the wilderness. Imagine how long it would take a human to gain enough skill to survive 20 years in the wild, merely impossible. In this image, the mother is calm and confident, she knows the human (me) with a camera is no threat. But the cub, on its first year in the wild, is not sure what to make of me just yet.
